Where the plain stops being flat
What makes Vojvodina worth driving isn't a hill — it's contrast. What each one offers behind the wheel
Vršac Hill is the only true set of switchbacks in Banat — the road up to the TV tower climbs through vineyards and forest via a string of bends that call for second and third gear. The asphalt is decent but the edges have no shoulder, so stay center-line. On weekends cyclists and joggers come out; go early.
The Deliblato Sands is our favorite for top-down driving: a straight, freshly laid road through the "European Sahara," the air smells of acacia and dry grass, and traffic is essentially nonexistent. Devojački Bunar is the natural stop for shade and coffee. The point here isn't the corners but the silence and a straight that never seems to end.
Titel Hill is the least known — a loess ridge above the confluence of the Tisza and the Danube, with a narrow road toward Vilovo and a view that opens up a full 360 degrees. The asphalt is patched and rough in places, but there's no traffic because nobody passes through here by accident.
