About us

Who makes MODUS, how the piece you are reading comes about, and what to do when you find an error in it.

What MODUS is

MODUS is an independent magazine about wine, cars, food and travel, published at modusjournal.rs. It has appeared since 2026, in Serbian, English and Russian, and is free to read — no account, no subscription, no paywall.

We do not write beginners' guides. We write for a reader who already knows the basics and is after the difference: why one wine ages and another does not, why one engine is remembered and another is not, and which of it is actually worth the money.

Who publishes it

MODUS is self-published — there is no media house or outside publisher behind it. There is no print edition, no subscription and no paid access; advertising is the only income. Andrija M. is responsible for the content. Editorial office: Beograd, Srbija.

Editorial post: redakcija@modusjournal.rs.

How a piece comes about

Subjects are not picked at random. They are picked from what people actually search for, so that a piece answers a question someone has rather than one we invented.

We do use artificial-intelligence tools in preparing a piece: for research, for a first draft, and for the English and Russian translations. None of it goes out unchecked — every piece is read by an editor before publication, and facts, names and figures are verified. Responsibility for what is published is always ours, never the machine's.

Photographs are licensed or our own. None is reused from one piece to the next.

Editorial independence

The site is funded by advertising. Every advert carries a visible „Oglas" (advertisement) label, and a sponsored piece is marked as sponsored. An advertiser does not see an editorial piece before publication and has no say over it — including no right to have something removed. For advertising: oglasi@modusjournal.rs.

We take no payment for a favourable verdict, and we do not run press releases as our own writing.

Errors and corrections

We get things wrong too. If you come across an inaccuracy, write to redakcija@modusjournal.rs — we will check it and, if you are right, correct the piece and record the date of the change. We do not delete a correction quietly.

The same goes for the right of reply: if you are named in a piece and believe something is inaccurate, get in touch and we will publish your response.
